MassUp.Us provides critical data to mobile masses. MassUp.Us facilitates large group bike/skate events by broadcasting route, map, chatter, weather and more, optimized for modern smartphones. Users can use the site from mobile browsers, and/or get text messages or emails. MassUp.Us was developed for major Chicago bike events, but is applicable broadly from athletic events to social happenings. MassUp.Us provides comprehensive features meeting the top mobile needs of participants, facilitators, and followers of such events. For participants the system provides quick mobile access to the event route handout, as well as route notes and cue sheet with interactive GPS linking, and text message based tracking of the mass in motion. Users can receive short mass chatter messages by email, sms or online. Messages are linked to map and GPS features where possible. Facilitator controls are optimized for quick ease of use and offline operation. Setup support map formats including KML import, upload of finished graphics, and emailed photos (for fresh live map posting from the field). Other basics such as weather, chat, archives, and offsite embedding are also available.
